My name is Toshio Shimada I am a tattoo artist living in Gunma prefecture， Japan. I started tattooing with my father in Brazil in 1985. In 1994， I opened my own shop here in Japan in Oizumi town， Gunma. Then in 2002 I opened a second shop in Tokyo. I am trained in the traditional Japanese tattooing technique of tebori in which I work with a bundle of needles and draw free hand with no assistants. I have preformed this technique at some international convensions around the world. However， I usually use modern tattoing technology to do the majority of my tattoos. If someone is interested in having their tattoo done by hand using the tebori technique they will have to contact me directly for consultation. Some of the styles that I like to work with consist of a unique combination of old skool American sailor tattoos and traditional Japanese art work.
